RESPITE & LIVE-IN CARE

about-1

Hennikon Care offers a range of flexible short breaks and respite options to enable carers to take a much needed rest. Support can also be speedily arranged in the event of an emergency situation.

Carers are usually selfless people who often neglect their own needs and wishes. A few days break gives carers the opportunity to have a holiday, visit friends, or just put their feet up knowing that their loved one is being very well cared for. A break allows the carer to restore their energy and enhances the lives of both the loved one and the carer and should be regarded as an essential part of the care cycle.

To find out how you can arrange a break, go to the Referrals page and start planning a well-earned rest.

TRANSITIONAL SUPPORT: Advice and support are also available when managing the transition process between two residencies. Transitional support is often needed when young people are due to leave children’s care services and are about to enter the adult world of care. Hennikon Care works closely with the young people, their families and carers, to provide the necessary support. Change can be stressful and traumatic, especially for those with learning disabilities and autism, but good planning which involves the young person can help reduce anxieties and ease the path to a new way of life.

Hennikon Care recognises the difficulties associated with changing homes and can provide an effective bridge during the transitional phase.
